the story
I'm Rachel, and I work with flowers and copper.
The story of my little flower business actually started in the big city: I founded Euclid Design Co. out of a need to problem-solve for my Toronto wedding, and that's where my passion for both flowers and making copper art was born. I built a copper backdrop on a friend's outdoor patio, and arranged all of the ceremony and reception flowers for my wedding. From there, friends started to inquire and refer people they knew, and I realized I'd found a vocation that I could fall in love with.
In 2018, my husband and I started our transition to the south Georgian Bay region, as it was getting more and more difficult to pull off full weddings from our third-storey walk-up right in the middle of Toronto's West Queen West neighbourhood. I still love my city connections but I now work out of my studio near the Beaver Valley in Kimberley, ON. From here, I deliver flowers to Collingwood, Creemore, Thornbury, the Blue Mountains, Grey Highlands, and beyond.
I look at nature's design as the example to follow. I love seeing how plants and flowers grow towards the light, and how each petal and leaf finds its own place on a stem or bush. My design approach gathers together clean, geometric elements with softer organic materials, striking a balance between symmetry and a sense of wildness and movement.
In order to put your special stamp on your wedding day, I collaborate with you on a floral vision that is personalized, authentic, and on-budget. I'm creative yet practical, and I work closely with farmers to source local flowers wherever possible.
My goal is to help you bring the best of the Georgian Bay region to your celebration. I love living, working, and playing here, and I can't wait to share that with you. If you had me list my top five values, they'd look something like this: honesty, transparency, compassion, sustainability, and equality. I want to build a sense of partnership with you -- working with me on your event flowers should feel like working with one of your most trusted friends.
